Richard March was the son of Charles and Margaret March of Pinewood Road, Ferndown.
He was a contributor to the "Pavilion Fund" in the Summer of 1933.
It would appear that, although Richard was serving with the Beds & Herts Reg't when he died, there is some indication that he was, at some time, connected with the Dorset Reg't.
He is interred in the Faenza War Cemetery which was formed in the winter of 1944 for the burial of those who were killed in the static fighting in this area, prior to the renewal of the advance of the Allies in April 1945.
Faenza is approx 35 miles south-east of Bologna and some 80 miles south of Venice.
